Portsmouth Muay Thai Boxing.
I was recently approached by Portsmouth City Council to see if we would be interested in participating in an upcoming event they were organising called Healthy Pompey, one big picnic, which was part of the government’s healthy living initiative and was to be a free event for the public to attend.
I was asked if the club would like to have a stand at the show, and also organise a demonstration including some audience interaction! Ever up for the challenge, we duly accepted and began preparations.

There will be a slight change to this Friday’s class on 18th June 2010.
The class will start and finish slightly earlier at the time of 5:30-6:30 pm (instead of the usual 6:00-7:00 pm).
Friday’s class will also be held in the larger hall (Room 2 on diagram) situated left of the current training hall (Room 5 on diagram).

Portsmouth Muay Thai instructor, Matt Scott and his students will be holding live Muay Thai demonstrations at Southsea Common this coming Bank Holiday Monday 31 May.
The event runs between 11 am-5 pm for the Healthy Pompey Big Picnic in association with Heart, with the Muay Thai demonstrations to be held around 12.00 pm midday on the Heart Stage (weather permitting).

Please be advised of some changes to this weeks classes on Friday 30th April 2010 and Saturday 01st May 2010.
There will be no class on Friday 30th April 2010 due to the John Pounds Centre will be closed for repairs.
The class on Saturday 01st May 2010 will be held at Castle Fields, Southsea (weather permitting) as the John Pounds Centre will be still closed. The class at Castle Fields will run from 10.00 - 11.30 AM and cost £5-00.

Please be advised that all classes are postponed due to the recent bad weather and icy conditions. As a result the John Pounds Centre will be closing early today (Friday 8th January 2010) and not opening tomorrow (Saturday 9th January 2010).
The next training session will be planned for next Tuesday 12th January 2010 (depending on the weather conditions).

Thailand trip
On the 26th September 2009 we went on our much anticipated first Portsmouth Muay Thai boxing club trip to Thailand. The trip had been a long time coming and everyone was excited at the prospect of finally getting out there. I had chosen the Fairtex camp in Pattaya for our stay as I felt it would offer the most for everyone as some wanted to train as much as possible and others less so and have more of a holiday.
